ACS is committed to keeping members and event attendees safe from COVID-19.

To promote the safety of everyone at the event, ACS will follow the guidelines and requirements of the World Health Organization (WHO) and other local regulations regarding COVID safety practices. This Attendee Safety Plan may change from time-to-time until the start of and during the ACS Publications Symposium: Biological and Medicinal Chemistry.
IMPORTANT: In light of events surrounding COVID-19, this is an appropriate time to remind ourselves of the risks incident to participating in the ACS Publications Symposium: Biological and Medicinal Chemistry. Even with every reasonable precaution to keep you safe, as outlined by the WHO, ACS cannot fully eliminate all risks of harm to attendees or guarantee their safety, especially from risks posed by COVID-19 or its variant strains. Ultimately, you are responsible for your own safety.
The ACS Publications Symposium: Biological and Medicinal Chemistry will be a Vaccination Recommended meeting for all attendees who seek access to the in-person meeting at the University of Bonn.

Mask Requirements:
ACS is recommending that all the ACS Publications Symposium: Biological and Medicinal Chemistry attendees wear a face mask while at the University of Bonn, or any facility hosting an ACS-sponsored event or meeting, or while attending an ACS hosted/sponsored events or meetings.
A recommended mask should be at least 2 layers of breathable fabric or hospital-grade material, that fully covers the nose, nostrils, and mouth, fits firmly under the chin, and fits snugly but comfortably against the side of the face.
Do Not Attend if…
All attendees and staff should NOT ATTEND if:
Fully vaccinated travelers should still follow WHO’s recommendations for traveling safely, including wearing a mask and washing their hands or using hand sanitizer.
If fully vaccinated with an FDA-authorized vaccine or a vaccine authorized for emergency use by the World Health Organization, one can travel safely to most countries.
All COVID‑19 entry restrictions to Germany are lifted for the time being. Entry to Germany is permitted for all travel purposes (including tourism and visits). It is no longer necessary to present proof of vaccination, proof of recovery or a negative test result for entry to Germany.

Proof of vaccination or proof of negative COVID-19 test will NOT be required for entry to the ACS Publications Symposium: Biological and Medicinal Chemistry.

Signage will appear at any entrance alerting attendees that entry may be denied if they:
Attendees must adhere to the requirements of any such signage while attending the ACS Publications Symposium: Biological and Medicinal Chemistry. Failure to do so could result in the denial of entry or removal from the venue altogether.
Handshaking, hugging, or other non-critical person-to-person contact will be discouraged among all participants.
ACS will remind participants through appropriate signage.
Privacy
The privacy of all attendees relative COVID-19 related situations will be respected at all times, including secure and limited access to their data and the proper and timely disposal post-meeting.
