Poster Session Guidelines

Poster Sessions will take place during the ACS Publications Symposium: Biological and Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Bonn in the Aula located in the main building.

Poster Presenters will hold discussions with attendees and judges circulating among the poster boards during designated poster session times.

There are no virtual presentations. All presenters must attend and present in Bonn. If you cannot attend in person, you may find an alternative presenter or withdraw your abstract from consideration for the presentation.

General Information

• Poster presenters must be registered for the symposium
• Poster set-up time will be Monday, March 6, from 13:00 – 14:30
  • You may also set up your poster 30 minutes before the start of the session.
• Poster sessions will be Tuesday and Wednesday, with authors of posters marked “T” presenting on Tuesday and those marked “W” presenting on Wednesday
  • If presenters are unsure which day they are presenting, please check with the registration desk
• Poster sessions are 1.5 hours long. You will remain by your poster board during your designated session and share your research with the Poster Judges and attendees.
• Your poster is part of a session consisting of 45 posters
• Presentations should be taken down within 30 minutes after the symposium program ends (16:00 on Wednesday, March 8)
  • Display materials not removed following the conclusion of the session will be discarded
• No audiovisual equipment is permitted for poster presentations
• Velcro tape will be available on-site for mounting the displays 

Poster Development Tips

• Posters must not exceed A0 (841×1189 mm) 
• Posters must be in portrait orientation
• Keep accessibility in mind when designing your poster
• Posters should include the presenter’s abstract title, name, and affiliation (plus relevant collaborators)
• The text should be concise enough to be read in under 10 minutes and from a distance of 4 feet (about 120 cm)
• Posters from previous conferences are accepted 
• In lieu of a printed program this year, we will post accepted abstracts on the symposium website and mobile app before the event

Posters Printing and Pick Up

If you do not want to struggle through airport security with bulky poster carrying cases, pay for an extra carry-on, or take the chance that your hard work and research will be lost/misplaced during your travels, you may send your files digitally and pick up your poster on-site at ABC Copy & Print, which is conveniently within walking distance of the venue.
